Blog_intro

Welcome to my blog. This blog is about my journey to put this 2 owner 64 Dodge Polara back on the road with some pro-touring flare. I bought it from the grand son of the original owner. The car was never taken apart until I tore into it.

I guess you would classify the build as a pro-touring build at this point. The drivetrain will be completely new. The car is on about its 3rd revision at this point. The final iteration of the drivetrain is an all aluminum Gen3 426 built by Modern Muscle in Martinsville Virginia. On top of that will sit a 2.9L whipple supercharger. The rest of the drivetrain is rounded out by a 4L80 trans and converter built by Phoenix Transmission in Weatherford Texas and a Moser fabricated 9 inch rear end with a Wave Trac diff. This whole package is controlled by a Holley Dominator EFI setup which runs the engine and the transmission with a single controller.

All the EFI stuff is here.....Thank you Holley

Well I finally got all the pieces for the Dominator EFI setup.  I imagine it is going to be a lot of fun wiring this monster.  It's nothing that I can't handle, it's just going to make for some very long days.

The Polara gets painted!

Thanks to Jason at Clouse's Paint and Body in Mead Oklahoma, the Polara got an amazing two tone clear coat paint job.  Jason and his guys put in lots of hours into making sure the car was super straight.  It had to be, it was painted black and Jazz blue.  Here are a few pics of the car in process and before the final color sand and buffing.

Interior - 2013 SRT Challenger interior to be installed

I love my LX cars, so I decided to find an interior out of a Challenger to put into the Polara.  The seats are very comfortable and I can enjoy a long drive in the car that way.

The final choice on the powerplant!

Well thanks to a nameless vendor that jacked me around for 9 months and then delivered a motor I couldn't use......I have switched to a reliable and trustworthy vendor for the engine.  Dave Weber at Modern Muscle is no building my engine for me.  The new motor is an all aluminum gen3 426 hemi.  We are going to sit a 2.9L Whipple supercharger on top of it for a very potent but street friendly package.

We built a roll custom roll cage

The car is going to make more than enough power to get in a lot of trouble.  In an effort to stay NHRA legal we built a full cage front to back.

New 4 link rear suspension with the help of Control Freak Suspension!

After talking to the guys from Control Freak I knew I wanted to have their setup under the back of my car.  I was not very impressed with the way the car drove with the leaf springs, so I ordered this kit and we got to installing.  Mark did a great job getting everything welded in and the 4 link setup came out great.  It was a very nice kit and I can't wait to see how the car performs with the new suspension.

Lots of catching up to do!

I have completely neglected my blog.  I wanted to take a few minutes to do a bunch of updates.  After lots of trials and tribulations the build is finally back on track.  Since the last post the car has had TONS of work done.  Let me try to catch you up with a bunch of posts to follow.
